About Us
Gingerbread Corner (formerly The Croydon Playcare Company) was the first Latchkey scheme in England set up in 1976 and was then called Croydon Gingerbread Charities.Its main aim was to provide quality childcare for single parents of children aged between 5-11 during school holidays and after school.
Now almost 35 years later Gingerbread has grown and is a flagship Children's Centre, catering for children between the ages of 0-16 and includes school pick up and drop off, and a Nursery.
Gingerbread Corner is a non-profit making Charity and we need your help with fundraising, if can help us raise money towards improving our facilities or replacing our buses please get in contact with us.

What do we offer
Full Time Nursery Places
- For children aged 3mths to 5 years old.
- Prices start at £143.50 per week.
Stay and Play
- Free Parent and Child group for children aged birth to 5 years.
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 12pm.
Breakfast Club
- Breakfast is served from 7.45am. Leaving at 8.30 for school drop off.
- Prices start from £21 per week.
After School Care
- For children aged 5 to 11 years. Facilities include a Soft Play Room, Craft Room and a large Adventure Playground.
- Prices start from £49 per week, including after school collection.
Holiday Care Scheme
- Care for 5 to 11 year olds during school holidays.
- Prices start from £20.50 per day, this is including any day trips.
Personal Development Workshops
- Free workshops featuring topics such as nutrition, raising self-esteem, anti-anxiety, introduction to IT.
- All with a free crèche. Call for available dates .

Parenting Programme
- Running over six sessions starting from 10th May 2011 9.30-2pm, with a free crèche, this interesting and exciting parenting programme is free and develops our confidence as parents and ensures we know how to meet our own needs and those of our children.
Human Givens Counselling
- Four free sessions of solution-focussed therapy given by qualified Human Givens Therapist, to deal with any emotional difficulties you need to overcome.
Life Coaching
- Up to four free sessions of Life Coaching, by a qualified Life Coach, to help you set out and achieve your career/work objectives.
